we now have a baby  hedgehog in the garden, has  it eaten the frog?
Could someone give me some information on frogs and now baby hedgehogs.  What do you feede them on?
I am thinking we have lost our frog to the hedgehog - am I correct.  Information please

I don't think that a frog will generally behave like a "pet" and stay in one particular area. There are any number of animals that could have eaten the frog. Foxes, dogs, even cats may well have killed it.
Of course, it may well just have hopped on to pastures new!

Hedgehogs generally live on insects/grubs and things like that, although they are considered omnivores (they eat both meat and plant food)

A small amount of cat food and fresh vegetables/fruits would be a good meal for them. A dish of water (never milk) is also a good idea.

I think we have a family of hedgehogs under our garden shed.  I now have a baby one coming for food.  It comes to the back door at night, it obviously knows where the food comes from.  I give it a small amount of cat food, as I also have two cats, the young cat tries to play with the hedgehog in the afternoons when it comes out. Has anyone else got these animals in their gardens?

Hi, we have had terrible rains and flooding, Our baby hedgehog has curled up in a corner of our garage/workshop.  We have to shut it in tonight, will it be okay  for the night, I will look at it tomorrow morning.  I am a bit concerrned as to its well being.  Do I just turn it out in the garden.   Shrek the yellow person.

Sorry to say baby hedgehog has died. doesnt move when we move it with brush head so am now assuming it is dead.Really upsets me to see any dead animals. bye for now shrek

Sorry to say it probably would have had a better chance in the garden somewhere - they need to eat a lot of food, and without its family, it's even tougher to survive.
Next time, maybe take it to an animal hospital - some take abandoned baby animals - we took a baby bird to one not so long ago that had been separated from its mother.
