Parrots live longer when fed table scraps

Apparently, if you have birds as pets, then although their staple diet should consist of seed (or whatever is recommended for your bird), feeding them table scraps (I guess that means chicken, meat etc) will lengthen their lifespan considerably. Interesting.

I feed the wild birds all our stale bread scraps, we have pigeons now in the trees and they get fat, not meat or chicken though, our cat eats those scraps.

I wouldn't encourage pigeons - they are vermin.

I had the
evergreen
tree sawed down to half its size to stop pigeons nesting, but I am afraid there are lots of tree for them to nest in.
There are at least two pairs of pigeons. The bread is put out for the other birds. Do you suggest I stop putting
this out?
By the way I also saw a squirrel come across the road to our side of the street. They must all be getting hungry.
What do you suggest I do?

magoo,
have you seen squirrels recently. Just been looking at pictures from last year. I expect there are more now. Do they come out in the hot weather.
How many are there?
Would like pictures on your site.
